IT ALL STARTED WITH A DIP

Inspired by his Middle Eastern heritage, Neri grew up learning treasured family recipes from his Safta, whose tahini, hummus and traditional dishes brought people together every day. As her unofficial taste tester, he developed a lifelong appreciation for authentic flavour, quality ingredients and recipes passed down through generations. Helping prepare meals for more than 800 people in his community each day shaped his belief that the best food is simple, generous and made to be shared.

After moving to Australia, Neri transformed his garage into a working kitchen and dedicated every day to perfecting his tahini recipe.Combining generations of Middle Eastern tradition with a fresh, modern approach, he created a tahini that was thicker, creamier and packed with flavour. People were blown away by the taste and Tahini Neri was born.Using a small food processor and making every batch by hand, Neri began selling his famous tahini at local farmers markets. In one short year, he found the loves of his life: Tahini Neri and his now wife, Rikki.

What started at farmers markets quickly gained a loyal following. Customers couldn't get enough of the tahini, and soon Tahini Neri landed in its very first retail home—a small deli in Caulfield.Not long after, Neri was back in the kitchen developing new products, expanding the range to include hummus and other Mediterranean favourites inspired by the recipes he grew up with.

As more Australians discovered Tahini Neri, the business continued to grow beyond market stalls and local delis.Tahini Neri expanded into food service across Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland, opened Neri's Hummus Bar, and introduced new products—including Australia's first protein dip range. By now, Tahini Neri had found its way onto the shelves of beloved independent grocers, specialty food stores and major retailers including Coles Local, before expanding nationally through Coles and Woolworths. The brand continues to grow with the introduction of its new Labneh range, including three SKUs now available in Coles supermarkets nationwide. After more than 18 months of product development and collaboration, the range delivers a fresh take on traditional Middle Eastern labneh—creamy, protein-rich and made for modern entertaining. The launch represents Tahini Neri's biggest innovation to date and continues the brand's mission of introducing authentic, high-quality Mediterranean foods to a wider Australian audience.
