OPEN A TABLE WITH OUR TAHINI.

In Hebrew the phrase ‘Lif-to-ach Shul-chan’ literally means to ‘open a table’, to make a huge spread, to share plates and dips, to feel the AVIRA (atmosphere) and feed family, community and friends.

That’s why we made Tahini Neri and that’s what we’re all about. Not just to bring you to your tahi-knees with taste, but to share the culture with you too.

So have a picnic or have a party. Invite everyone around to open a table with Tahini, and with Neri.

  • 1985 Neri was born on Kibbutz Sde Eliyahu in Israel

  • 1995 Every day after school Neri watched his safta (nana’s) hands prepare authentic Israeli food in the Kibbutz kitchen. He was her un-official taste-tester.

  • 1998 Tradition was passed on as Safta taught Neri their family’s famous tahini and hummus recipes. Together they would feed 800 people in the shared dining room.

  • 2010 Neri moved to Tel Aviv center and took his passion for food and family with him. Spending years searching the city’s kitchens and established hummus institutions for the best flavour and the authentic tastes of home.

  • 2015 Neri made his move to Australia.

  • 2016 Transforming his garage into an operational kitchen, Neri dedicated every day to perfecting his Tahini recipe. He discovered a way to combine old traditional Middle Eastern cooking with a fresh, modern kick. People were blown away by the taste and Tahini Neri was born.

  • 2017 Making his first batches from the garage using a small food processor, Neri started selling his famous tahini at local farmers markets. In one short year he found the loves of his life, Tahini Neri and his now wife, Rikki.

  • 2018 Neri got back into the kitchen to develop his super range of hummus.

  • 2019 Tahini Neri landed in a small deli in Caulfield, its first retail store.

  • 2020 Today Tahini Neri supplies over 100 independent stores and has dipped into Coles Local too. We’re shipping around the country and in Asia, with new product lines already in the works.

TAHINI GOES WITH EVERYTHING AND ON EVERYTHING. YOU CAN MAKE IT TOO BUT WE MAKE IT BETTER, BECAUSE YOU MIGHT THINK THE HERO INGREDIENT IS CHICKPEA OR SESAME, BUT REALLY IT’S NERI.
